The head of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) Colin Stewart said, “the UN believes that it is possible to find a mutually acceptable solution to the Cyprus problem.” UNIFEED

The Security Council today unanimously adopted a resolution renewing the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) until 31 January 2018. The document also calls on both sides to continue to engage “as a matter of urgency” in consultations with UNFICYP on the demarcation of the buffer zone. UNIFEED
