“We just received from our colleague from WHO medical supplies and kits and the drugs, for this critical situation, we thank them for this, for their help. They are helping us now to establish a field hospital beside our hospital here, which contains about 200 beds. Because the hospital here is congested, there is no space at all. Hundreds of patients are in corridors in the balconies. We cannot manage in this situation because every hour we receive, newly injured patients in critical situation. The ICU is more than 50 beds are all occupied.”

“We need additional beds. We need additional staff, emergency medical teams, to back up, etc. and we need continuous supplies and equipment. The situation is also compounded by the huge influx of IDPs. There's IDPs all around, in and around, the hospital. So this is the hospital and the Nasser Medical Complex, it's the most important hospital in south of Gaza. It has all the emergency specialities.”

“We are delivering a series of special equipment and supplies for the management of complex trauma injuries. This truck is full of supplies that will capacitate surgeons, nurses, doctors, and other medical and other health workers to make sure that they're able to save more lives.”

STORYLINE
The World Health Organization (WHO) is providing health support and delivery of vital medical supplies including trauma kits and external fixators to the Al Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.

Supplies also include provision of field hospital tents to increase the capacity of beds available for sick and injured people.

It is also becoming increasingly difficult to safely provide aid at the rate that is required due to increasing hostilities.
