STORYLINE
The IAEA has finished its independent assessment of Japan’s plans to release the treated water stored at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station.
Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi presented the report to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo today (04 Jul).
The report is the outcome of nearly two years of work by an IAEA Task Force made up of top specialists from within the Agency and advised by internationally recognised nuclear safety experts from eleven countries.
