The French President said, the European Union is “finalizing 14 climate laws which should help with our commitments” to the 2015 Paris Agreement.
“What we're doing on land,” he said, “we need to also do that for the oceans.”
Macron said, “we should set ourselves ambitious goals for biodiversity and specifically for the oceans. After his intervention at the Plenary, Macron, together with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa walked to the Lisbon Oceanarium.
The UN Ocean Conference is taking place from 27 June through 1 July, seeking science-based and innovative solutions to improve the health of our ocean.
