STORYLINE
UNICEF Representative Herve Ludovic de Lys, chief of Health Programme, Dick Chamla, and Health Specialist, Mohammad Nafi Kakar, visited malnutrition and pre-term wards at the Ataturk children’s hospital in Kabul on Sunday (19 Sep)

More than one million children under-five in Afghanistan are at risk of being severely malnourished by the end of the year. The high malnutrition rates have exacerbated the alarming measles outbreak Afghanistan is facing, with only half of children under the of one in Afghanistan being fully vaccinated. Ensuring continuity of health and nutrition services for the most vulnerable children is critically important.
