Forced displacement now affects more than one percent of humanity – one in every 97 people – and with fewer and fewer of those who flee being able to return home, according to UNHCR’s annual Global Trends report.

The UN Refugee Agency’s flagship report, issued two days ahead of World Refugee Day, shows an unprecedented 79.5 million were displaced as of the end of 2019.
