Joint Special Representative for Syria Briefs Media
Lakhdar Brahimi, Joint Special Representative of the UN and the League of Arab States for Syria, met with Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mikhail Bogdanov, and United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Wendy Sherman, to assess the requirements for an international conference to find a political solution to the Syria crisis. Briefing journalists ahead of the second tripartite talks on the subject, Mr. Brahimi (at lectern) said such a conference was not likely to be held in July.
