"Peace From One", a sculpture by the American Daniel La Rue Johnson, was dedicated this morning to the memory of Ralph Bunche who died in 1971.

Description
The ceremony which took place at the United Nations General Assembly Hall honored the former Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs who, as UN Mediator for Palestine in the 1949 Middle East peace settlement, became the first black man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. The sculpture stands opposite the UN Secretariat building in a small park recently renamed for Dr. Bunche.

Among the guests are Metropolitan Opera star, Seth McCoy, singing at the ceremony. Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim; US Vice-President Walter Mondale; Mrs. Ruth Bunche; US Representative to UN Donald F. McHenry; and President of the Phelps-Stokes Fund, Frank H. Wiliams; UN Under-Secretary-General for Special Affairs Brian Urquhart; Bishop Roy Nichols; and President of Notre Dame University, and the Right Reverend Theodore Hesburgh..
