The International Labour Organization has released a new report showing that a total of 172 million people were jobless last year – one in 20 individuals of working age. The Trends in Global Employment 2019 report also states that 360 million people in 2018 worked in a family business and 1.1 billion worked for themselves - often in subsistence activities. ILO

Boko Haram violence has driven more than 35,000 Nigerian refugees from their homes in Borno Sate to Goura in Cameroon’s Makary district, where they endure difficult living conditions. Bunj, a small, yet busy town located in South Sudan’s Maban county came to a standstill when more than one hundred boda boda riders rode through its streets following a successful conclusion of a training workshop on road safety, conducted by the UN Mission in South Sudan’s Malakal field office.
