A US-proposed draft resolution calling for “immediate, sustained ceasefire" in Gaza was vetoed by permanent Council members China and Russia, in a vote of 11 favour to three against (Algeria, China, Russia) and one abstention (Guyana). UNIFEED

US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said, “All 193 members of the United Nations General Assembly have spoken in one voice and together chosen to govern artificial intelligence, rather than let it govern us.” UNIFEED

The Chair of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1591 on Sudan reminded the warring parties “that those who commit violations of international humanitarian law and other atrocities may be subject to targeted sanctions” and other measures. UNIFEED
