The Head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) said, “Looking ahead, it would be impossible to envision free, fair, and credible elections in December 2024, unless all South Sudanese parties, leaders, and stakeholders grab the bull by the horns, and agree on a critical mass of decisions by the first quarter of 2024.” UNMISS

Supported by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), a showcase of song, dance, and myriad musical instruments have unified hundreds of people from different ethnic communities in Western Equatoria state’s capital, Yambio. UNMISS

At a time when the world’s youngest country is racing to complete its delayed democratic transition, 850 peacekeepers from Nepal, including 78 women, serving for peace in South Sudan, were awarded the United Nations medal for their professionalism and commitment. UNMISS
