Speaking at the opening of the high-level meeting of the Regional Oversight Mechanism of the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and the region in Burundi’s capital, Bujumbura, Secretary-General António Guterres reiterated his call to all the armed groups to lay down their arms “immediately and rejoin the demobilization, disarmament and reintegration process.” UNIFEED

Secretary-General António Guterres said armed groups – both local and foreign – must lay down their arms in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and efforts must be redoubled to advance a lasting, sustainable peace in the region. UNIFEED
