The Secretary-General condemned the killing on Monday of one Cameroonian peacekeeper from the peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) and the wounding of five others, two of those five are seriously injured, a UN Spokesperson said. UNIFEED

The head of the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA), Abdou Abarry, told Security Council, “It is obvious that only a resolution of the crisis in Sudan will make it possible to address the humanitarian, economic, environmental and security situation in Chad and other countries, notably the Central African Republic.” UNIFEED

Shipments of the world’s first WHO-recommended malaria vaccine, RTS,S, have begun with 331,200 doses landing in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The delivery is the first to a country not previously involved in the malaria vaccine pilot programme and signals that scale-up of vaccination against malaria across the highest-risk areas on the African continent will begin shortly.
