The UN Observer Mission in Central America (ONUCA) is there to help the region's peace process. When Honduras conducted a nationwide vaccination campaign, ONUCA made available a helicopter and a nurse to ensure children in the isolated Atlantic provinces received their all-important immunization. ONUCA, the UN Observer Force in Central America, is developed across five countries playing a central role in monitoring the regional peace process. To ensure armaments are not smuggled across regional border, ONUCA mounts regular patrols - on horseback, and by boat.
