Description
West Papua is more than 3000 kilometres from the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.
It’s not only difficult to reach, but for decades it’s been plagued by conflict, making it a challenge to create economic opportunities here. But thanks to a government project supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) fishermen in the country who have always lived hand-to-mouth are now improving their lives through seaweed exports.
