“So, we are here in Al Najar Hospital, it’s the main hospital in Rafah. It is a small hospital with 50 beds, currently expanding rapidly because we see enormous influx of IDPs from the north, from the middle of Gaza and now actually also from Khan Younis and south Gaza.”

“We are here in the dialysis centre, the dialysis at Al Najar is the only functioning dialysis centre in Rafah. It normally treats 100 patients maximum per day. Currently they are treating more than 300, 350 patients per day, 24 hours. There’s a long waiting lists. People, dialysis patients, come from all over Gaza to this place.”

“Providing us with medical supplies, medical equipment and tools, and also providing hospitals with fuel, in addition to that we need more medical staff to help the existing one as they are completely exhausted. Furthermore, opening Rafah crossing point for the entry of all supplies.”

“We are first of all to discuss with Dr Marwan and his team on the key needs of medical supplies, essential supplies, trauma supplies etc., which we plan to deliver over the coming days. We also heard from Dr Marwan and the team that there is a big need for food; food for the staff. Food and water for the staff and for the patients, including fuel.”

“We had to remove, as much as possible, our medical supplies from our two warehouses in Khan Younis because of the increased military activity around, we would not be able to operate from those warehouses anymore. We rented very quickly this warehouse, we took almost 80-90 percent, we have one other storage facility where we have additional supplies and currently we are planning for a number of medical distributions.”

“There’s a massive flow of IDPs in this area in Rafah so we need to make sure that hospitals in this area in Rafah will be able to function and of course what is needed is essential medical supplies.”

Three-fifths (60 percent) of health attacks and three-fifths (58 percent) hospitals damaged were Gaza City. Who calls for the respect of international law and active intervention to ensure the protection of health care.
