“This Monday, September 18, upon my arrival to New York, after my participation in the G77+China in Havana, Cuba, and, in compliance with the above-mentioned compromise in my plan of governance and acknowledgment with the memorandum of firm understanding with The UN in 2022, I delivered to the Secretary General of the United Nations the official proposal to create an International Commission Against Corruption and Impunity in Honduras, impartial, autonomous and independent with the capacity for investigation and persecution of cases of high level corruption and financial crimes.”

Speaking to Member States today (20 Sep) during the High-level week of the General Assembly, Castro said that, this Monday, she had delivered to the Secretary-General the official proposal to create an International Commission Against Corruption and Impunity in Honduras.
According to the President, the new organization would be “impartial, autonomous and independent, with the capacity for investigation and persecution of cases of high-level corruption and financial crimes.”
Castro concluded, “This is the only way to clean up a State where public institutions, the political pirates and public-private associations have all been infiltrated by organized crime.”
