Before the conclusion of the Segment, Liu Zhenmin, USG of DESA, introduced the SG reports on the theme of ECOSOC and on long-term impact of current trends on SDGs. José Antonio Ocampo, Chair of the Committee on Development Policy (CDP) introduced the report of CDP. The President of ECOSOC and Liu Zhenmin, USG of DESA, delivered closing remarks.

The final day of the High-level Segment of ECOSOC, which took place the day following the closure of the ministerial segment of the High-level Political Forum, “focus on future trends and scenarios related to the Council theme, the long-term impact of current trends, such as the contribution of new technologies, in the economic, social and environmental areas on the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals, based on the work of the United Nations and other regional and international organizations and bodies as well as other stakeholders.” (General Assembly resolution 72/305)
