STORYLINE:

On Wednesday (6 Nov), attacks on Al-Ikhlas Women’s and Children’s hospital in Shanan village, Ariha district, and Kafr Nabel’s Surgical hospital in Ma’aret Alnumaan district put the two health facilities in south rural Idlib out of service.

Access to health services for 185,000 people -at least 37,000 of them children- has been deeply impaired by the attacks. The hospitals, providing over 2,000 monthly consultations to children, women and men, were the last remaining health service delivery points between the subdistricts of Ariha and Kafr Nabel.

UNICEF called on all parties to the conflict to protect children and stop attacks on the civilian infrastructure they depend on in northwest Syria and across the country.
