In this regard, we strong urge the full implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 751, which requires all Member States to take all necessary measures to prevent the direct and indirect import and export of charcoal from Somalia.”

Addressing at the General Assembly in New York today (26 Sep), Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo said his government is “strongly committed to the ambition in enabling peace building and state building agenda.”

On climate change, Farmajo reaffirmed the full commitment to “the outcome to the Paris Agreement and equally other multilateral environmental agreements which protect our planet and safeguard the future for all.”
