We have notably been able to obtain helicopters, convoy protection units and demining teams that had an immediate impact on our operations on the ground. We thus salute the engagement of the United Kingdom, who remains an essential partner for MINUSMA and for Mali.”

“The United Kingdom is going to be making a new contribution to MINUSMA next year. We will be giving 250 highly trained personnel. We will also be not putting any caveats on their use, so that we can have them doing things that quiet long range, they will form a long range reconnaissance team and I think that will really help with the effort that is being made here and having an effect on the ground being able to build resilience and rapport with particular communities and combat the threats.”
