STORYLINE:
The UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) said it provided support to the Ministry of National Defense in its recruitment for the country’s armed forces.
In total, 1023 candidates were recruited to join the Central African Armed Forces (FACA)
MINUSCA said special attention was paid to enable women to be recruited alongside men.
MINSUCA said the candidates passed a series of medical examinations. Doctor Koagne Mba from the peacekeeping mission said, “Those who have been selected will take the medical examination to make sure that they are not carrying any defects that could harm them.”
A list of final recruits will be generated after the publication of the medical exam results.
The recruitment falls within the framework of the Security Sector Reform which is meant to ensure the protection of civilians, a sovereign responsibility of the State, and the provisions of the Political Agreement for peace and reconciliation.
