As the General Assembly wraps up the main part of its 65th session, its President today hailed the summit with which it opened for galvanizing momentum towards achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs
) to reverse a global legacy of poverty and attendant ills.
“I think we are well underway and the most important for me was to know whether we have the potential to do it or not and we got the right answer, I think: we have,” Joseph Deiss told UN Radio
of September’s MDG summit attended by more than 100 heads of State and government.
