STORYLINE:

Sunday Mass in Haiti ’s capital Port-au-Prince's was held under a UNICEF tarp next to the rubble of what used to be the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

The church was among many that had been knocked down by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti last month.

Some reported estimates said seven out of every ten Catholic churches were destroyed in Port-au-Prince and damage is estimated in the tens of millions of dollars.

While many in Haiti are dealing with profound trauma, pain and loss, faithful Haitians look for peace and comfort at church.

Restoring churches in Haiti will be a long task. For now, what is left is being used for shelter as well.

Church goers like Marie Antoinette Gulbain suffers from all of the devastation.

And she still can’t understand what happened.

Reports say the earthquake killed more than 100 nuns and priests, among them the top church leadership.
