STORYLINE:

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Haiti today to visit mission headquarters (MINUSTAH) devastated by Tuesday’s earthquake and to express solidarity with distraught UN staff and the Haitian people in  what has already been described as the worst ever disaster to strike the United Nations.

Upon his arrival, he met with Haiti’s president Rene Preval and had an emotional meeting with his former UN spokesperson Michele Montas.
