UN / DR CONGO HUMAN RIGHTS
According to a Human Rights Watch report, more than 1,400 civilians were deliberately killed this year in eastern Congo during two successive military operations. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says that because of the killings, the UN mission in the DRC (MONUC) has suspended certain operations with the Congolese army. UNTV
