The UN International Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) upheld a life sentence against Zdravko Tolimir, a former senior military officer of the Army of the Republika Srpska, accused of crimes committed in Srebrenica and Zepa in 1995. ICTY

The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the UN's principal judicial organ, has today rejected both Croatia's claim of genocide against Serbia and Serbia's counter-claim of genocide against Croatia. This Court's judgment is final and cannot be appealed against. ICJ

The United Nations top official in Kosovo, Farid Zarif, told the Security Council that after the successful conduct of Kosovo-wide municipal elections, the process for the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade "has passed an important milestone and has entered a critically and and broadly more challenging phase."
