The Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Jeffrey D. Feltman, told the Security Council today that as the situation inside Syria continues to deteriorate, it was vital to preserve regional stability and said that "advancing the Middle East Peace Process remains central to ensuring that the region is not at a further risk of destabilization."
Robert Serry, the United Nations Special Envoy for the Middle East, said today that it was now time "to come together in concerted action and support a serious initiative including a revitalization of the Quartet" in dealing with the Israeli/Palestinian issue. UNTV
