Western Equatoria is one of the ten states in South Sudan that was terrorized by Uganda’s Lord Resistance Army for years and thousands of civilians were displaced. The LRA carried out large-scale attacks against civilians, including massacres, mutilations, abductions, sexual violence and looting. In recent years, however, the LRA has moved to Central African Republic.
