And whatever is going on in the political world, whoever is voted in or voted out, business still has enormous agency, and business can continue to raise the bar. STORYLINE
Can art imitate life?

The cast of “Incorporated” was at United Nations headquarters today (21 Nov) to highlight a new series about a world in the future dominated by corporations after the planet is ravaged by climate change.

The series, executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon takes place in the year 2074, where climates change has cause widespread famine and driven governments into bankruptcy. Multinational corporations have taken over and control 90 percent of world. They fight for market share and dwindling resources.

English actor Sean Teale, who plays Ben in Incorporated said the series presents an opportunity “for people to see where we are going, to see the repercussions of our actions if we don’t deal with them now.”
The series weaves in the harsh consequences for failing to address Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) like climate refugees, inequality, hunger and poverty.

Denis Haysbert, who plays Julian, said that “if we don’t start being sustainable now, if we don’t make the right choices, we are doomed.”

Renowned British actress, Julia Ormond, who plays Elizabeth Krauss in the series said “whatever is going on in the political world, whoever is voted in or voted out, business still has enormous agency, and business can continue to raise the bar..”

In the pilot episode, New York is under water and Milwaukee Wisconsin is the capital of the US. Canada is constructing a security fence after a record year for illegal immigration of 12 million US immigrants. There are food shortages due to massive droughts.

UN experts have and will continue to in the 2nd season, go into the “writers’ room” to share experiences and expertise on issues relevant to the series. The series debuts on the Syfy channel 30 November.
