(21 August 2008) - The United Nations Security Council today met behind closed doors for consultations on the Georgian issue, and to study a resolution formally presented by the Russian Federation endorsing a six-point cease-fire agreement on the Georgian crisis sponsored by France.

(21 August 2008) - The UN environment agency says that marine turtle populations in the Indian Ocean region and South-East Asia are under threat from coastal tourism, and commercial and illegal fishing practices.
