A group of former manual scavenger women who now have other means of livelihood, thanks to a rehabilitation program run by an Indian NGO are in New York to participate in a series of events being organized to mark the International Year of Sanitation. SUDAN / ABYEI SPLA WITHDRAWAL (2.15)
(03 July 2008) - The Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) has begun its withdrawal from the disputed Abyei area, where fighting in May forced 50,000 people to flee their homes.
