  • UNifeed enables news providers to cover important global issues by offering timely broadcast-quality video from throughout the UN system.

    Material is currently available in two formats: on-demand streaming Flash and broadcast-quality MPEG-2 PAL and NTSC for broadcast use. All material is also accompanied by shot lists and story synopses.

    Stories come from the global network of UN specialized agencies, funds and programmes, Peacekeeping Operations and UN headquarters. New stories are posted on the UNifeed website as soon as they become available on a daily basis (excluding Sundays).

    UNifeed was created by the UN's Department of Public Information and UNICEF in response to the growing global demand for timely video material with an international focus. It is also supported by UNHCR, UNDP, the World Bank and the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

UN / NPT WRAP

Model and philanthropist Christie Brinkley participates on a panel for nuclear non-proliferation. Dozens of "Mayors of Hiroshima" present a stack of boxes with nearly 500,000 signatures and a progress report to UN High Representative Sergio Duarte. The report is a proposed protocol complementary to the NPT, which envisions a nuclear-weapon-free world by 2020. UNTV

PARAGUAY/ VACCINATION CAMPAIGN

A massive effort is under way to vaccinate 30 million people in 44 countries and territories in the Western Hemisphere. The campaign began in Paraguay with a kickoff of events in the South American Chaco region during the seventh annual Vaccination Week in the Americas. UNICEF

UN / MYANMAR CHIDREN IN ARMED CONFLICT
