  • UNifeed enables news providers to cover important global issues by offering timely broadcast-quality video from throughout the UN system.

    Material is currently available in two formats: on-demand streaming Flash and broadcast-quality MPEG-2 PAL and NTSC for broadcast use. All material is also accompanied by shot lists and story synopses.

    Stories come from the global network of UN specialized agencies, funds and programmes, Peacekeeping Operations and UN headquarters. New stories are posted on the UNifeed website as soon as they become available on a daily basis (excluding Sundays).

    UNifeed was created by the UN's Department of Public Information and UNICEF in response to the growing global demand for timely video material with an international focus. It is also supported by UNHCR, UNDP, the World Bank and the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

WORLD MALARIA DAY / ADVANCER

On World Malaria Day April 25, the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Partnership will kick-start its "Counting malaria out" campaign. This 2-year campaign will intensify global efforts to reach the first important malaria milestone by 2010 and to strengthen systems in endemic countries for the long haul of sustained malaria control and elimination. BRUSSELS / SOMALIA DONORS CONFERENCE

Donors pledge more than 213 million U.S. dollars to boost security for Somalia and help fight piracy off its shores.
