The UN humanitarian agency said that (USD) 169 million was needed to help relieve the humanitarian situation in Haiti. Cholera is a major concern in the country, which hosts half of the world's suspected cholera cases. Forty-five thousand people could be affected by the cholera epidemic in 2014 and if efforts are not made to combat the disease there is a risk that it will spread to other areas of the region.
