A look at a camp in Jordan to which Syrian refugees continue to arrive, stretching humanitarian resources. The UN Refugee Agency has sent out an appeal for more tents and caravans. UNHCR

"Last week our tent was flooded with water. We lost all our belongings even the cups we drink from. We went to the school, and now they want us to leave. Where are we supposed to go? There is no place to go."

"We are being doing a lot of coordination with our partners as well as UNHCR to be able to assist the tent and accommodations of these refugees that have moved to the school."

STORYLINE:

New arrivals sit among their meagre belongings awaiting registration at Za'atari camp in Jordan. Thousands have come in the last few days.

It was only a few weeks that an unprecedented cold front hit Jordan. Many tents were flooded.

UNHCR along with its UN partners is trying not only to accommodate the influx of refugees, but also to cope with the aftermath of the storm.

Families were forced to move and take refuge in Saudi based caravans and tents.

Hemeyed came with his family from the Syrian city of Dara'a one month ago. He points to where his tent stood before the floods came.

Fatima is one of the refugees who went to the school.

She came from Dara'a five months ago. A mother of fourteen children, and grandmother of 60 grandchildren she says life is very hard in the camp.

UNICEF's school programs have been interrupted while efforts are made to rebuild the destroyed camp area.

Since January 20,000 people have arrived in Jordan, stretching humanitarian resources to the brink.

UNHCR has sent out an appeal for more tents and caravans for these families that never dreamt they would one day be refugees.
