STORYLINE:

The new special representative of the United Nations Secretary General in Haiti arrived in Port-au-Prince on Sunday (26 June). 
  
After meeting with his military, police and civilian senior staff, Mariano Fernandez Amunategui, a Chilean diplomat declared to be honoured to have been chosen by the Secretary General to serve him in Haiti.

The new chief of MINUSTAH will face the main challenge of reinstituting Rule of Law and security.   
  
Newly elected President of Haiti, Michel Martelly is under tight negotiation to have a new government approved by the parliament. 
  
Haiti is still recovering from a major earthquake and an epidemic of Cholera that hit the country in 2010.
