"We put together a plan of action and we call it the first 100 days, that plan includes to secure or to create a security environment where the government can function. Also we pledged that we will put together a very small team in my cabinet, a small government that comprised of 18 Ministers and of course I promised that those 18 Ministers must be a capable and professional team and of course we meet that expectation as well."

"Also we promised that we promote reconciliation process which of course we have sent a delegation, a high level delegation to central Somalia Where you have several clans had conflict and as a result of their effort that result has been resolved through peaceful means, I Think that is, I Would say, our biggest accomplishment because we saved lives."

"Also we are working on the transitional task, that includes to put together the road map and the way forward after August, but security is our main issue that we have to deal with because if we don't have a secure environment there's no way the government can function."

STORYLINE:

At the end of October last year the President of Somalia Appointed Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed as the new Prime Minister of the troubled African nation and a new streamlined cabinet of 18 Ministers was formed.

This new government has now been in office for 100 days and Abdullahi Mohamed explained the government's priorities and what's been achieved thus far.

One of the Prime Minister's biggest challenges had been to mediate between the various clans in Central Somalia.

He also noted that the main priority of the government remains security.

The dire humanitarian situation in Somalia, where civilians have been caught up in the fighting pitting forces of the country's transitional government against insurgents of the Al-Shabaab armed group and other militants has been exacerbated by a severe drought .
