Iraq: One Woman's Quest for Justice

In Iraq’s southernmost city of Basra, a young woman battles to be reunited with her daughter in the aftermath of a violent marriage. A meeting with a women’s rights activist, Fatima, has given her hope to restart her life. Fatima runs a centre, supported by the UN Democracy Fund, UNDEF, which advocates for increased civil and legal rights for women in democratic Iraq.
