Kyrgyzstan: Torture on Trial

In June 2010, when violence broke out between Uzbeks and Kyrgyz in southern Kyrgyzstan, hundreds of people were detained. Now those Uzbeks who were detained by Kyrgyz police are filing claims of torture while in detention, and pressing charges through the legal court system with the assistance of the UN Human Rights Office.
