South Africa: Recycling For Cash

Creative entrepreneurs in South Africa are benefiting economically from recycling electronic waste by using it as raw materials for manufacturing.  They’re also refurbishing computers and selling them as cheap second-hand units.  In nearby townships, some of these refurbished units are placed in Internet cafes for use by those South Africans who can’t afford to buy new ones.  These initiatives are also bringing much needed jobs to the unemployed in the country.
