Croatia: United Nations Transitional Authority in Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Sirmium (UNTAES)
In the village of Lovas, Croatian citizens uncovered a grave site believed to contain the remains of Croatians killed during the siege of Vukovar between November 1991 and January 1992. Excavation and inspection of the site, in the UNTAES administered region, was monitored by UN Civilian Police.
Identification numbers mark the individual skeletal remains uncovered at the Lovas grave site.
