“UN Women for Peace” March Marking International Women’s Day
Yoo Soon-taek, wife of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, led a “UN Women for Peace” march outside the General Assembly Building, to mark International Women’ Day. Participants included Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser (centre), High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations; his wife, Muna Ghassan Tamim Rihani (left); and Christy Turlington Burns, founder of the campaign Every Mother Counts, which aims to end preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth around the world.
