United Nations Photo

A photo exhibit entitled “Journeys to School”, organized by UNESCO (UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in partnership with Veolia Transdev and Sipa Press, was launched at UN Headquarters in New York. The exhibit features photos taken by 18 photojournalists in 13 countries, illustrating the challenges children around the world face on their way to school.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (centre left) and UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova (centre right) were among the speakers at the opening of the exhibit.
