Security Council President Briefs Media on Central African Republic
Mohammad Masood Khan, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN and President of the Security Council for the month of January, delivers a Council press statement on the situation in the Central African Republic. Council members expressed in the statement their concern regarding the “Seleka” coalition’s advance towards Bangui since the Council's last press statement of 27 December. Reiterating their urgent call for an end to “Seleka’s” military offensive, they stressed that the current situation in the Central African Republic cannot be resolved militarily.
