Two police officers from the hybrid UN/African Union peacekeeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Hasan Al-Mazawdeh and Qasim Al-Sarhan, were abducted on 20 August, 2012 in the town of Kabkabiya, 140 kilometers west of El Fasher. They were freed on 2 January, 2013.
