Assembly Adopts Text on "Oceans and Law of the Sea"
A view inside the General Assembly Hall as the Assembly adopts – by a recorded vote of 125 in favour to 1 against (Turkey), with 4 abstentions (Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Venezuela) – a wide-ranging resolution on “oceans and the law of the sea”, emphasizing in particular sustainable development and the maintenance of biodiversity in marine ecosystems.
