Assembly Marks 30th Anniversary of “Constitution for Oceans”
The General Assembly marked the 30th anniversary of the launch of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, which is often called the “constitution for the oceans.”
Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, addresses the Assembly. He was President of the Third UN Conference on the Law of the Sea from 1980 to 1982.
