Secretary-General Visits Syrian Refugee Camp in Jordan
On 7 December Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited Za’atri camp near Mafraq, Jordan, where thousands of Syrians have taken refuge from conflict, as part of a two-leg trip in Jordan and Turkey to assess the Syrian refugee situation in those countries.
During their flight over the camp, Andrew Harper (right), UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) representative in Jordan, tells Mr. Ban the number of refugees at the camp is “growing by the day”.
