Humanitarian Affairs Chief Visits Syrian Refugee Camp in Jordan
The UN’s refugee agency (UNHCR) has erected 1,000 “winter units”, with plans to construct 1,500 more, at Za'atri Camp near Mafraq, Jordan, where thousands from Syria have taken refuge.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Valerie Amos, stopped at the camp as part of a three-day visit to assess the Syrian refugee situations in Jordan and Lebanon.
